This is based on a report from Europe (external link) on 23 October that "The European Commission has announced today that it will seek a mandate from European Member States to negotiate a new Anti Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) with major trading partners, including the US, Japan, Korea, Mexico and New Zealand. "

3-4 June 2008 Government representatives from developed nations and strategic developing nation partners met at the US mission in Geneva on to discuss proposals

8 June 2008 OIA request to MED for all documentation regarding ACTA including meeting notes for any conferences attended

9 June 2008 MED respond to say that they "will go through our files and identify what we can disclose to you under the OIA and forward onto you in due course."
